Waiting For The Plague To Move On

It's all disease and pestilence round our way, and has been to one degree or another for the past month. It's been coming in relentless waves of increasing intensity, and the body count as of today stands as follows:

  • FiL pasted to the sofa for the past two days with a rotten, feverish head cold
  • Dearest Wife nursing a fortnight-old, low-grade, energy-sapping bug of some sort
  • Darling Daughter in bed for several days with a fever, congestion, and a raw throat
  • Little Man confined to bed this evening after having thrown up spectacularly not once, but thrice
This too shall pass - sooner rather than later, please...

oh, dear. i feel for you and your family. my youngest had the fever, congestion and sore throat illness for five days. missed an entire week of school. at the time i hoped it was strep throat as at least with that you can treat it. oh well, i was lucky and did not succumb--i must have already had that bug!

feel better soon!

Yuck.

A good reason to stay out of the city; the illnesses are there. ;)

Hope you all get better very soon.

I've been steadily ill for the past 2 months, so I feel your pain. Add to this a misdiagnoses, antibiotics that weren't necessary and all of the gastro intestinal issues that come with that. Bleh.

And yet, you still manage to post lovely music. I really need to get more on top of things with my music blog (wish I could merge blogs easily).

I hope you are all feeling better. Hugs!

yes, I have stayed in bed for the last 2 months (give or take 7 weeks) with some sort of existential bug

I too have a bug. Only it's a real bug. Some sort of a tick, I'd say, except that it has humanoid eyes in addition to tentacles. It sits on top of my head and, mostly, it stays out of my way. Sometimes it gives me ideas. Sometimes they're good ideas, sometimes not. I'm not sure what it's feeding on, but it seems quite content on the whole, except for that one day. But that's a different story...

I hope you are ALL feeling well by now! I must say, I feel for Dearest Wife the most, speaking as a dearest wife who can never, ever get sick and get waited on! ;)

Dearest Marcy, strep was ruled out yesterday. But at 2:30 AM this morning Little Man awoke complaining of earache! A dose of acetaminophen seems to have knocked that on the head, but then Dearest Wife woke up and announced that she had now caught the cold! Argh!!

Dearest JaG: Yes, but you've got bears & wolves & mosquitos the size of Cessnas to cope with instead, don't you?? ;-)

Dearest Cindy: Oh dear, that does sound dreadful! Thanks for the kind words. I seem to be disease-free as of today, but I'm feeling very inadequate on the blogging front...

Dearest Juan: Oh my, well here's some Albert Camus Angst-B-Gone (TM) spray. Kills existential bugs dead... ;-)

Dearest Mentok: Obviously it's feeding on the fecund soil of your mind. When it gives you ideas, it's merely fertilizing you to produce more for it to feed on. And so it goes...

Dearest JC: Thanks for the concern. The 100 cc's of pure thrust worked a treat and I'm up & at 'em like a mofo again...

Dearest Nats: I passed on your wishes to Dearest Wife, who appreciated them greatly. As mentioned above, however, she seems to have succumbed as of this morning. If it's half as bad as the bug I had, no WAY she'll be able to do anything BUT be waited on. I've forewarned my office...
