I spent a good deal of time dithering over what track to submit, with The 5678's just edging out Jim Carroll's galloping, anguished NYC punk classic, 'People Who Died.' So to ease my conscience, I offer it to you here. Must say it's taken on a different resonance these days for me, as my own list grows...

And now allow me to introduce a newcomer to the blogging community. After spending time as a welcome visitor to various blogs in the neighbourhood, the lovely Galateaa recently decided to set out her own virtual stall, This Isn't What It Looks Like. I would encourage you to visit, sample her wares, and drop her a comment or two. But be warned: she'll have you dancing in your bedrooms in no time...

Ah, cursed time, you flee so swiftly. Goodnight, Dear Friends.

i totally almost picked "People Who Died" but figured someone else would have so I went with the Doctor Who theme and TWO other people picked versions of that!

The 5678s song was the very first thing that popped into my head when I read the theme. Good thing I didn't submit, then, as I would have stolen your thunder. I'd have never forgiven myself for that, dash it all.

(I'm reading a P.G. Wodehouse book at the moment. The harshest curse is "dash it". Goofy and old-fashioned yet I find myself drawn to the dashed phrase. ;-)

I think everyone did an awesome job with this theme, I was really impressed with what everyone came up with.

Yeah for Contrast Podcast!!!!

Just wait until tomorrow. I've just finished making CP#18 and it's a work of art. ;)

If you or your readers would like to hear more from Jim Carroll, he's doing a spoken word show at MASS MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art), Saturday, August 19 at 8 PM. You can find out more at http://www.massmoca.org/performing_arts/performing_arts.html.

Thanks!
